Torque is a physics term used to
describe the force an object to rotate about an axis, also thought as the
“twist” of an object. When it comes to manufacturing, there are many reasons
it’s necessary to understand what torque is, and the need for torque tools. For one, learning how to increase
torque can make it easier to put something together, or take it apart. For
example, compare unscrewing a screw with your fingers and with a screwdriver.
Aside from the screwdriver having more grip, the added length increases the
torque, making it easier.
Why Does it Matter?
In addition to the physical
manufacturing mentioned above, torque can also be a measure of strength and
durability of an object or machine. In some factories and manufacturing
facilities, torque testing is used to determine the strength of an object. It's
measured against a baseline, and the distance from this baseline can indicate
an anomaly in the object. Torque testing is critical in the assembly of
electric motors, for example.
What Torque Tools are Available?
Here at Waveroom, we’re dedicated to
helping your electronics manufacturing business run smoothly and successfully.
In line with this goal, we have several torque tools in our inventory to
accommodate varying needs. Torque screwdrivers, whether electronic, manual, or
digital, can be used to help set things to specific torque levels. We also have
digital, and manual torque wrenches are handled similarly. Digital and
electronic models can prevent over-tightening because they typically send some
signal when you’ve reached the desired level of torque.
Any tool in your toolbox needs to make
your job easier. Here at Waveroom Plus, our job is to help you do yours. By
choosing high-quality tools from reputable brands to offer, we enable our
customers to feel confident in their tool purchases. Whether you need torque
tools or workstations, we’re the guys to call. Check out our inventory here to
