Desiccators Cabinets - A Desiccators Cabinet is a Clear, Clean and Moisture Free storage cabinet constructed from cell cast Acrylic. The input of Nitrogen via compressed dry air in to the cabinet displaces the contaminated air and provides an ideal storage solution for components and devices sensitive to moisture, humidity and Electro-Static Charges. These cabinets provide a mini Clean-Room environment at a fraction of the typical cost.
Uses - Today's Tech manufacturing industry requires extensive use of IC's, BGA's and other highly sensitive components. These packages are very durable but when stored in the usual manufacturing environment they become exposed to contaminates and moisture. These pollutants cause corrosion and oxidation on the component leads, ultimately resulting in poor solder or glue joints and lead to possible board failure. Moisture absorbed during an inadequate storage can also manifest itself by literally "popping" components during the intense heat of the solder re-flow process. Furthermore, Static is the leading causes of device failure. These cabinets (when ESD Specified) are guaranteed to provide a safe haven from any "potential" dangers of an ESD event. Each specified cabinet is covered in the Static Dissipative Coating (SDC). Further protect your sensitive items on the inside of the cabinet using the available Stainless Steel Bottom Plates, Trays and Grounding accessories.
Cabinet Options - The Desiccators Cabinets are available with Standard Walls (No Gas) and Plenum Walls (W/ Gas - Nitrogen via Compressed Air). Each Cabinet is constructed from clear Acrylic. A Plenum Walled Cabinet will introduce Nitrogen via (Dry) Compressed Air in to the cabinet. This will displace the contaminated air and provide an isolated environment for sensitive components and devices. All cabinets are available with a Static Dissipative Coating (SDC) when specified. Cabinets can also be fitted with an optional Digital Humidity Indicator. The Humidity Indicators measure the humidity levels in the box and displays it in large easy to read digital format.
