The Desco 13853 is a Cobalt-Free Humidity Indicator Card (HIC). Humidity Indicator Cards are an essential part of complete moisture barrier packaging assembly. High Relative Humidity can cause significant and possibly irreparable damage, to sensitive equipment, supplies and other susceptible products. To ensure dehydration works, HIC's measure relative humidity (RH) inside sealed packages to allow immediate visual inspection of whether the interior of the package has sustained un-safe humidity levels.
The 13853 Cobalt-Free HIC's contain chemically impregnated humidity sensitive indicating spots, which will change color with the presents of moisture. The comparison bar is used to determine relative humidity of air. Select the indicating spot that most closely resembles the color described on the HIC. The measured humidity is the percentage indicated on the matching spot. The chemical reaction of the indicating spot is completely reversible - The Spots Continue To Change Color As Moisture Levels Change.
The 13853 Humidity Indicator Cards feature 3 Percentage Spots (30 - 40 - 50%). These spots change color from Brown (Dry - No Moisture Presents) to Yellow (Humid - Moisture Presents). The Cobalt-Free HIC's are in accordance with classification and labeling requirements under the European Chemical Agency (ECHA), complying with REACH Directives. All Cobalt-Free HIC's are environmentally safe and come verified using MIL-I-8835A test Methods. The 13853 HIC's include a pre-punched hole on the top and bottom of each card for hanging purposes.
