The FT710-04 is a new Product from American Hakko. This unit will remove built up oxidation on soldering iron tips thus preserving tip life. The FT710-04 Functions similar to an electric pencil sharpener. First turn the solder iron off, immediately tin the oxidized tip with our special tip tinner, then immediately insert the solder iron tip into the FT710-04 opening. The system automatically turns on when it senses a tip inserted. Two plastic resin brush heads (A1566) begin to counter-rotate and remove oxidation from the tip. The brush heads are replaceable. One head is made from a plastic resin Type-A (A1566). The other optional brush head is constructed of metal bristles Type-B (A1567).
FT710-04 removes tip oxides, debris and excess solder without damaging the tip plating and the solder iron specific receptacle collar provides accurate positioning of the tip for optimal cleaning while mitigating FOD (Foreign Object Debris) potential from the spatter of the solder that is cleaned from the tip. This is most useful for operators with Military Contracts, Aerospace Divisions and other High Stress environments.
