Description

The CL8499 is an ESD-Safe Manual Tip Cleaner Set, designed for minimizing Foreign Object Debris (FOD). The CL8499 is a complete cleaning system with integrated "Splash-Guard" and "Anti-Splash" Membrane, designed to keep the work area clean, free of solder particles and other FOD, which can cause catastrophic damage to sensitive components in critical applications. Using an effective debris-control device can greatly reduce the high cost of potential FOD damage and/or the potential for injury to personnel. This set includes a Brass Wool tip cleaner, which will leave a small layer of solder on the tip to prevent oxidation between cleaning and re-wetting. A wet Sponge (S0354), for tip cleaning with distilled water, to avoid tip wear and an ESD-Safe Tip Wiper Sponge Tray (CL0240). The Tip Wiper Tray is a temperature resistant receptacle that lets the operator remove excess solder by gently tapping or wiping the tip against an edge. The CL8499 is constructed with a non-slip base pad, so there is no need to hold down the base while tip cleaning. The CL8499 Manual Tip Cleaner measures 4.33" L x 3.54" W x 3.54" D (110x90x90mm).
