The CV-UK7-HTD is an ESD-Safe, Connection Validation (CV) Series "Solder Wire Feeder" High Thermal Demand Soldering Iron Hand-Piece Upgrade Kit. This kit includes the CV-H7-HTD "High Thermal Demand" Soldering Hand-Piece, Iron Work-Stand and Wire Feeder Unit (w/ required hook-ups). This iron is designed for use with the CV-5200 Series Soldering System only (Not Recommended For CV-500 Series). This iron is compatible with the Connection Validation (CV) Technology, which evaluates the quality of a solder joint by calculating the intermetallic compound formulation and provides closed-loop feedback instantly to the operator. The solder joint validation is signified via the LED light ring integrated into the hand-piece. Illuminating "Green" when a proper joint occurs and "Red" when a joint is unsatisfactory. Eliminating the risk associated with the variables involved in soldering applications and removes the success/failure determination of a good solder joint out of the hands of the operator. This helps complement the operators skills for judging the quality of a solder joint by introducing an objective method of evaluating solder joint quality. This process also provides a systemic and objective approach for repeatability as well as a measurable standard to the soldering process. The Metcal "Solder Wire Feeder" System adds control and convenience to the soldering process. This system provides repeatability and functionality to the process via the iron's digital controls, high performance and it's ability to handle multiple wire solder diameters. The CV-H7-HTD Iron is compatible with wire diameters from 0.01" - 0.05" (0.3 - 1.27mm). This iron accepts all HCV Series Tip Cartridges (*All Cartridges Sold Separately). These tip cartridges are available in 700, 800 and 900 series temperatures. The Wire Feeder Unit is included with this Upgrade Kit, as well as, the required tubing and adaptors for use. The feeder unit provides multiple modes of operation including forward feed, retraction, delay and speed. This unit also features a large LCD display which displays the programmed parameters and offers a cycle counter with selectable unit of measure (mm or in). The wire feeder unit features solder feed blades (which reduces the formation of solder balls at the point of use) and a wire spool lock for securing the solder spool to the unit.
